So as I sit here typing, I'm reminded that while i'm in the nice confines of a covered structure, there are those who are fighting allegedly for the freedoms of the American people. In the event of not trying to sound crass or ungrateful, i'm just wondering; could we maybe send the children of those who send other children to war? Can we have their children fight along side the many other children with faceless parents, who hope that their child does not die in some cheesy fight for oil. Yes people I'm talking about the MIDDLE EAST! Why are we over there? Really! Can someone please tell me- without all the sugar coating, has the United States found weapons of mass destruction yet?

I read today that one of our helicopters was shot down. Somemore casulties for the United States. How many more families must cry over a loved one killed? The answer to that is many more. Remember people, there are other wars: Remember Afganistan? Remember the Philiphines? Remember North Korea?

It makes me rather ill that the United States has spread itself pretty thin....I know all you veterans are probably throwing things at your screen right now, as well as you should- your sacrifice made it so I could say these things (THANK YOU). But alas, all is not well....I feel that these new conflicts are of a greater scale, but very low on thought. I really feel that the United States should not be in the Middle East at all. At what price do we put money over lives? It seems that has already been answered.

I am an Australian. You underestimate your Countries Importance to the Free world. America is now the Worlds Policeman and I cannot think of another Nation who I would prefer to have that power. I am an ex Serviceman and have been to War. I feel sorrow for every allied life lost. If the Muslim onslaught and violence not be curbed we will be demolished by them

Thank you for your comments Chickenman1. First off I really need to point out that the "Muslim Onslaught" is not the problem, it is the policing action taken on by the United States that sets off radicals. My point is, war in the Middle East has nothing to do with the United States. The U.S. needs to address the social needs in its own country first, before trying to address those in other countries. Second, the U.S. isn't going to be "Demolishing" anyone anytime soon, because as you have probably read in the paper, the insurgents are giving the U.S. a run for their money. Each day another American soldier is killed, and the main fighting is over; isn't that a paradox when you have more people killed when the hostilities are officially over, than in the initial conflict? I salute you on your valor, but unfortunately the U.S. Government only fights for money. Tell me Haliburton isn't making a killing with HUGE contracts hand delivered by Bush Jr. Money is war, and war is money. Believe me when I tell you this, more than a few people are profiting from this war...with the sweat and the blood of their own people. The United States has begun selling out their own people.
